Week 10: FINAL!!!

This is exactly what we want to talk about! ZODIAC!! Sally and I came up this idea since we both read the quote "Ours is a brand-new world of allatonceness" (McLuhan, 63).

Our brains are used to use stereotypes to identify new people. We stick labels on them and those labels sometimes determine how we treat others. Although Sally and I both agree that "stereotype" is actually not a bad thing, what we have now are too serious. We do not want gender, races, ethnicity, or colors to speak for us.

Zodiac signs are also ways of using stereotypes, but they are much more mild than what I have mentioned before. And the most important thing is that this is not what we can get at the first glance of a person! If we know the zodiac signs of new people, we will bring more expectations to them, and it will really make the communication more interesting. If you have read Sally's blog post already, you will know the differences in these four signs. When we were making soundscape, we were trying not using the same instrument all the time. We spent a lot of time on trying different instruments, and determined which one worked better. For instance, we used flute and accordion on the "Air" episode, because air flow plays a great role on these two instruments, as if "air" people are usually more flexible and accessible. Also, we used a lot of sixteenth notes when we wrote the "Earth" episode, because "earth" people are usually more organized and pay a lot of attention on details whatever they do.

We hope we expressed the most typical traits of these four signs clearly, and hope you enjoy it!

  1. My favorite is the air sign soundscape, although my zodiac is in water signs.
